Blush, Champagne, & Gold Fairytale Army Wedding in Altamonte Springs, Florida

Jen and Dylan’s June wedding in Altamonte Springs, Florida featured a fairytale theme and a blush, champagne, gold, and white color palette.

“I had always wanted a really classic, fairytale sort of wedding,” the bride shared. “I had the complete vision for how I wanted the florals to look: pink roses, white hydrangeas, no greenery. I wanted it to be feminine and soft but sophisticated.”

Jen, a freelance graphic designer, wed her high school sweetheart Dylan, an Army helicopter pilot, immediately after graduating from college. “We were lucky in that we had a lot of time to be together before, during and after the wedding,” Jen said of their decision to wed before Dylan departed for training.

The couple researched vendors on Wedding Wire and The Knot. They hired florist and interior designer RJ Glamour to make their vision a reality, and George Street Photography to capture both the engagement and wedding photos. “I loved Belinda, my photographer,” Jen gushed. “She stopped at nothing to get the perfect shot – some of my favorites were after the wedding near the beautiful plants! It looks like we’re in a tropical paradise, and people ask all the time if we had a destination wedding.”

The bride said yes to the dress at a New York City boutique, but found her delicate lace veil much closer to home. “My veil was actually a family heirloom,” she confessed. “My mom wore it, my grandma wore it, and so did her sister (my great aunt!)”

What was your favorite moment of the wedding?
My favorite moment was definitely exchanging our vows. I’ll never forget what it felt like to be up there with everyone watching, exchanging our rings. The rest of the evening was wonderful, but that moment was by far my favorite – cheesy but true!

What’s your advice to other military brides?
Try to let go of planning stress once you are with your husband before and during the event. As we all know, time together is limited, so try to get in a good head space to be in the moment with him and really soak in every moment.

  1. What a beautiful wedding! Welcome to the world of being a military wife, especially a wife of a pilot. XOXO.
